Joined 2000
Trained as an actor at London Guildhall School of Music and Drama way back
in time! Joined Frank Fortescues Famous Players who then ran most of the
repertory theatres in North of England. Hyde, Oldham and Bramhall. Acted
as Juvenile at Tudor Theatre Bramhall with Patricia Phoenix as leading lady.
Toured with Arts Council round mining areas of Ronda Valley in Wales as
juvenile in "When We Are Married" with Wilfrid Bramhall playing Herbert
Soppitt. Married in 1959 and posted to Khartoum. Joined Khartoum Players
and acted in open air productions in grounds of Sudan Club. On to Swaziland
in Southern Africa and appeared with Manzini Players producing and acting.
Then to Jeddah and joined Saudi Equity Theatre where directed and acted in
many plays in American School and British Embassy grounds - all drama being
banned. Enjoyed playing Miss Prisim in "Importance of being Ernest" and
Goodey Ann in "Crucible" Final posting Sharjah in United Arab Emirates.
again acting with local group.On return home joined Ifield Barn Theatre
Company in 1984. Appeared in a number of plays and directed 5 -favourite
being "On Golden Pond". Joined Archway in 1990 and first part was in
"Corpse". Directed three plays - favourite "Steel Magnolias". Favourite
part Queen Margaret in "Richard III". Love the Archway and will continue to
support it as long as I am able. A privilage to be a member.
