Paul Tester
Joined 1990
Paul's main home is in the Lighting Box but he also enjoys being involved as ASM, Bar Staff, and Backstage. He joined the Archway in 1990. Paul served on the Council of Management from 1995 - 2007 and chaired the Social & Events Committee for two years.
Paul was proud to be nominated by Bryan Rhoades to succeed him in 2001 as Company Electrician a role Paul carried out until 2007. Paul has assisted with most of the Youth Workshop productions at the theatre and enjoys training the youngsters who are interested in lighting and sound.
Pauls most enjoyable productions to have been involved with to date are Nicholas Nickleby, Henry V, Count Dracula, Little Shop Of Horrors & Popcorn.
Paul feels flattered that he has been asked many times to 'tread the boards' ! He clearly remembers when David White called to ask if he would like to be the back half of a pantomime horse, a part he turned down... Since then people keep trying but Paul feels his place is with the 'technical' areas of the Theatre.
Few people know however that Paul has actual had a speaking part way back in 1985 when he played Bobby in Yattendon Middle School's production 'The Evacuees' He was also on stage again at Horley Comp when he was in the Choir for a Carol Concert... !!!, (conducted by Roger Hind) he must have been desperate.
Paul has been responsible for designing and maintaining the Archway web site since it's start in 1997.
