Lyn has been a member for over 20 years. She spends her time working backstage, mainly stage managing or prompting, as she has no desire to get out on the stage (with the exception of Panto Party!) and leaves that to the more extrovert types.
Lyn holds the position of Company Stage Manager, one of the Head of Department roles within the Theatre.
The most memorable production on which she was one of the stage managers was the epic "Nicholas Nickleby" in 1993, which ran for 4 weeks and involved a cast of over 40. She also claims the distinction of stage managing both the last production in the old theatre ("The Desperate Hours") and the first production in the new theatre ("Scapino the Fixer") in 1987. She is regularly involved in one of the more demanding productions of the year – Panto - either stage managing or as part of the crew in what has become a fairly regular backstage team.
She has served on the Council of Management since 1998, having been Chairman of the old Social & Events Committee for 3 years and a member of the old Production Committee. She currently sits on the Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing and Social Committee. She particularly enjoys organising social events and has gained something of a reputation as a very determined ticket seller!
