Jacquie Redfern

Joined 1980

Jacquie has been a member of the Archway since 1980. She likes to lurk in the
shadows backstage as stage manager or as part of the crew. Very occasionally she has
been lured onto stage, most recently as a witch in 'Wizard of Oz.'
As stage manager she has controlled numerous large cast productions , ranging from
Shakespeare to panto. She has also been at the helm of some memorable theatre
experiences such as 'Bouncers' and 'Animal Farm'.
In her career Jacquie now teaches drama to 4 to 11 year olds, after many years as
a first school class teacher. This involves staging 3 productions a year and
tutoring pupils for LAMDA Spoken word exams.
As a change from teaching, Jacquie runs the Youth Workshops at the Arch, which
over the years have involved hundreds of young people, many of whom have become
members of the theatre. She is also a registered chaperone and during the summer
helps to run a Summer Drama School at The Hawth in Crawley.
