This year’s Youth Workshop production will be an exciting adaptation of the classic novel by Robert Louis Stevenson “Treasure Island” adapted by Phil Willmott. We will have pirates a plenty, sailors and lasses with, of course, the favourite characters, ‘Jim Hawkins’, ‘Long John Silver’, ‘Blind Pugh’, ‘Captain Flint’ ( the Parrot), ‘Ben Gunn’ and many more, with a cast of over 50 youngsters taking part.
When I thought of doing this, we wondered if many of our youngsters would know the story, but as one of the books is on the current curriculum, many do know the story and think that it’s ‘cool’ that we are doing this production. There will be plenty of nasty pirates, plus lots of swashbuckling where our heroes save the day!
So come and help us find the treasure, both within the story but also within the talents of our younger members of the Archway Theatre.
