Bugsy Malone
by Alan Parker, Words and Music by Paul Williams
Thursday 19th June, Friday 20th June,
Saturday 21st June, (Sat Mat and Eve) 2008
Performances start 19:45
Matinee starts 15:00
This will be the 15th annual production by our energetic and talented Youth Workshop members. It will be a celebration of the talents of the Archway Theatre’s younger members.
Gang War is rife in 1920's New York. It's a dangerous place to do business, as Bugsy Malone knows well. But
when the weapons are messy rather than lethal, the
hoodlums would rather dance than fight, then you can be
sure things aren't always what they seem to be!
Take 52 assorted young people, add a dozen memorable songs, fantastic characters and a lot of splurge, and you are in for an evening of exhausting entertainment! Miss this production and you miss out on what theatre and
childhood is all about.
You will love Bugsy, the charming chancer, Blousey, who dreams of Hollywood, Fizzy, who is always waiting for tomorrow and Tallulah, the ultimate showgirl.
With a talented (grown up!) live band to keep us all in
time this is not to be missed.
Forget the film, this is the real thing. Come and help us
celebrate 15 years of Archway Theatre Youth Workshops by
dropping in on 'Fat Sam's Grand Slam', liveliest joint in
town.
