Privates On Parade
by Peter Nichols
This musical play takes us to Malaya in 1948
and the communist Rebellion. It is a tongue in
cheek look at the British Military and follows the
adventures of S.A.D.U.S.E.A., namely Song and
Dance Unit South East Asia.
It is intermingled with adventures comic and
tragic as they tour the jungle countryside
menaced by the Communist Guerrillas. The play
deals with the induction of the virginal Private
Steven Flowers into a world of gay banter and
drag routines chiefly embodied by the
flamboyant Terri Dennis, a true theatre “luvvie”,
who performs various songs in the guise of
Carmen Miranda and Marlene Dietrich
accompanied by the members of S.A.D.U.S.E.A.
This is a very entertaining play containing song,
dance, comedy and drama, tears and laughter.
We are very pleased to say that in order to bring this extravaganza of entertainment to you
we have a very experienced cast including Simon Bonsor, Michael Beach, Mark Bellchambers,
Chris Butler, David Riddick, Daniel Woods, Neil Carter & Ron Covey together with two
Archway newcomers, Kevin Hawkes and Emma Ladd (the sole female!).
Please come and enjoy our December production, it promises to keep you hugely
entertained.
One small warning - this play does contain a certain amount of rude content which one
would expect from soldiers in the army.
