A Shred Of Evidence
by R.C. Sherriff
Whe Richard Medway wakes up one sunny November morning following a rugby club dinner, he is totally unaware that the events of the previous evening are about to be revealed with disastrous implications - unaware that is, until he switches on the radio. The final item of news leaves him filled with horror - a fatal accident has occurred along the route he drove home. A cyclist has been killed. The driver failed to stop. Could Richard be involved? Should he go to the Police?
While he seeks the advise of a Solicitor and personal friend, his wife Laura struggles to come to terms with the unfolding events. Their daughter Pamela remains in blissful ignorance as she prepares for University. The Police Inspector - a professional if ever there was - turns up asking awkward questions and Richard calls upon his rugby chum Foster to tell a different story if necessary. Then there are the Bennette - determined to cash in on the unfortunate events.
R C Sherriff, dramatist, novelist and poet, has written a suspenseful play, and the Archway Theatre Company once again draws on a talented cast. Richard Pollard, Susanna Kay, newcomer Hannah Rogers, Alan Berridge, Winston Fane-Bailey, Marrion Naughton, Eddie Redfern and Adrian Gilbert collectively bring you an evening's entertainment certain to keep you guessing throughout.
