Angels and Saints
by Jessica Townsend
Jessica Townsend started writing in her early thirties. Angels and Saints was her second stage play, and won her the Peggy Ramsay Award in 1998.
This is a deeply moving, but often funny, play about relationships; the whining Irish grandmother bringing up her grand-daughter Noreen, who desperately steals a little time for herself and Noreen's meeting with the inebriated horse whisperer. Is this uncouth drunkard really a fallen Angel?
I am fortunate to have a very talented cast - Dolena Richmond, Bill Fenton, Sylvia Temple and James Selby - backed by Bette Bunkell and Diana Udul as joint Stage Managers, helped by Rachel Clarke and Ron Covey.
Neil Hunt is my Set Designer, and is in the process of creating an amazing Angel! Lighting Design is in the expert hands of John Herbert.
