Communicating Doors
by Alan Ayckbourn
"Like a magic conjurer, Alan Ayckhourn keeps pulling evermore rabbits out of the hat. Communicating Doors, his 46th play, manages to take us by surprise by being a mixture of pastiche Psycho and time-warp comedy ............... Ayckhourn is at his most devilish ingenious" said Michael Billington of the Guardian.
I don't disagree with that for one moment, Communicating Doors is a wonderful comedy thriller with its intriguing set, a suite in a five star London hotel that will transport you between the years 2014, 1994 and 1 974. I am most fortunate to have a particularly strong cast for this production with Debra Cornell playing Poopay. a dominatrix!, with Tony Godden taking on the challenging role of Reece Welles. Viv Short in an equally demanding role as Ruelia, his second wife, and Jo Selby playing his first wife Jessica. We welcome Phil Warnett to the Archway in his first production, where he is playing Julian, Reece's business partner. Finally we see Jim Pluck taking on the role of Harold from hotel security.
I promise you a production that will have you at times on the edge of your seat and at other times crying with laughter.
