Have you ever wondered who filled Santa’s stocking as a boy? Or why he carries out his annual mission every year? All is revealed in this delightful and exciting play, based on the successful novel by local author Lucy Daniel Raby and adapted by her for the stage.
The play was first performed 2 years ago in Lyme Regis by a professional cast but this is the World Premiere of the new, definitive version with all new music by Geoff Tinniswood (once an Archway member, recently touring the UK professionally as MD on shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and South Pacific).
This production is being designed and directed by Gary Andrews and the roles required are as follows (marked with a * means strong singer/solo or duet:- Child around 10, playing younger
- Mother
- Ella (Nickolai’s mother)/Comet (Queen of the Reindeer) + crowd – 30s
- Hannah* (his foster Mother)/Lotta (Anneka’s mother) – 40s
- Vilmar (ancient King of the Elves)/ Lancer (King of the Reindeer) + crowd - 40+
- Volpo* (Magda’s evil sidekick) – 30+
- Magda* (an Elfin villainess) – 30+
- Skank & Skism (2 headed goblin)/Joe* (Nikolai’s foster father) – 30+
- Nickolai* (a young Elf) – pre-cast Anneka* (Nikolai’s best friend) + crowd – teens/early 20s
- Joachim(an Inuit boy) + crowd – teens
- Rudolph (leader of the young Reindeers) + crowd – teens
Additional characters x 14 include:
Finn (nasty boy) – late teens/early 20s
Miriam – (Young girl) – early teens
Reindeer x 8, Wolves, Goblins, Elves, Citizens, Children etc: chorus of mixed ages.At the audition you will be expected to read, do a bit of physical stuff and please bring a song to sing that shows your voice off to its best!
